Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is properly equipped and our staff appropriately trained to provide outstanding diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs. AAH goes even further to guide and assist our clients through the maze veterinary specialists when referral for complex care is required. We never put our ego before the health of your pet.
Surgical Services: AAH is well equipped to offer the highest level of general orthopedic and soft tissue surgical services. AAH has both bone plating and pinning capaiblities. Dr. Baum is a graduate of the AO-ASIF Orthopedic program from The Ohio State University. Spays and neuters are performed weekly under the highest standards and strictest level of care.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Pre-anesthetic testing and ECG's (with cardiologist review) are strongly encouraged before any anesthetic protocol. AAH uses the latest techniques including isoflurane anesthesia, eipdural injections, and constant rate infusions to limit surgical discomfort. Every patient is carefully monitored during surgery via ECG, Pulse Oximetry, and surgical assistant observation.
Radiology Services: Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders. AAH also provides ultrasound examination for a variety of cardiac, abdomenal, and gentiourinaty concerns. Second opinions of radiographs by a Board Certified radiologist are easily arranged and encouraged to ensure the highest standard of care.
Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with Board Certified Veterinary Cardiologists. AAH uses on-line ECG consultation for pre-anesthetic evaluation and emergency cardiac assessment.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations. AAH utilizes a tonometer and blood pressure monitor to quickly and accurately assess intraocular and blood pressures.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet.
Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and oral surgery.
Individualized Flea Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. All of our veterinary assistants are certified veterinary nutritional advocates and provide you with diet and nutritional advise customized for your pet.
Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Bathing: Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.
Emergency Care: Arlington Animal Hospital limits emergency services to our active clients only. This restriction greatly reduces your liklihood of waiting for emergency services in your time of need. AAH is also networked with the West Mountain Animal Hospital to ensure 24-hour emergency care for our clients.
