Gwen Roderickbegan working at AAH in January 2002 after studying Psychology in college. Gwen is the technical supervisor and surgery technician. She and her son Max share their lives with many pets including a ball python, a bearded dragon, a cockatiel, a hamster, a bunny, chickens, 3 dogs and 2 cats. Max keeps her very busy but when she finds time enjoys hiking, dance, reading, collecting tea pots and Asian pottery.
Shona Ross has been at AAH since 2006. She is originally from England but has been in the United States for over 15 years now. Shona has her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and hopes to soon be completing course work toward a master’s degree in Business. Her hope is to one day to be a veterinary practice manager. Shona works with our veterinarians doing anesthetic monitoring and is well skilled as an appointment technician. Shona and her fiancé Mike share their lives with their golden retrievers Ava and Magnus and their cat Zip-It. Some of Shona’s interests are gardening, hiking and reading.
Marissa Luna will have had her 2 year anniversary with AAH in July 2009. Marissa and her husband Flavio were married this September and share their home with their daughter Bella, bunnies, chickens and 2 dogs. Marissa enjoys horseback riding, re-building muscle cars with her dad and is a skilled artist in many unique mediums. Marissa is well on her way to being a skilled surgical/appointment nurse and x-ray technician.
Danielle Dota is the newest member of our receptionist team. Danielle earned her Bachelors Degree in History from Wesley College located in Dover, DE in 2004. Danielle held many student government positions and was an active member of Alpha Phi Omega. Through out her collage career she was the sole student repersenative and headed the Subsatnce Abuse Taskforce on campus. Danielle formerly taught algebra at a private school and now works for the New York state school system, as a hotel manager and here with us at the animal hospital. She shares seven indoor cats with her family which she loves very much. For fun Danielle is learning to ski from her boyfriend Tyler. Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, her southern nephew Aidan is her pride and joy. This summer she looks forward to many bicycle adventures with Tyler and friends.
All of our veterinary assistants are certified Veterinary Nutritional advocates through Hills Pet Nutrition.
